2022年、全国（台湾香港マカオは含まず、以下同）の法定感染症発症者数は6,930,112例（宮本注： 前年は6,233,537例； 696,575人増に転）、死亡者数は21,863例（前年は22,198例； 335人減）であった（同日発表された甲類・乙類の統計と丙類の統計を合算し、毎月の月報冒頭のスタイルに当てはめてみました）。
（一） 感染症報告発症者数及び死者数：
甲類・乙類（A類・B類）感染症： 2022年、全国で甲類・乙類（A類・B類）感染症（新型コロナウイルス感染症＊12を除く、以下同）の報告発症者数は243万1000例、報告死者数は2万2000人となった。
報告されている発症者数の病種ワースト5は、ウイルス性肝炎、肺結核、梅毒、淋病およびブルセラ症で、甲乙類感染症報告発症者総数の93.4%を占めていた。報告されている死亡者数の病種ワースト5は、エイズ、肺結核、ウイルス性肝炎、狂犬病、流行性出血熱で、甲乙類感染症の報告死者総数の99.8%を占めていた

Class A&B Infectious Diseases:
In 2022, 2.431 million cases of Class A and Class B infectious diseases (except novel coronavirus infection 12, the same below) were reported nationwide, and 22,000 deaths were reported. The top five reported incidences were viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, syphilis, gonorrhea, and brucellosis, accounting for 93.4% of the total reported incidences of Class A and Class B infectious diseases.
